Campaign: Say Goodbye
February-March 2007
The most awarded interactive mobile campaign in the world!
'Say
Goodbye' is a great example of how mobile technology can be seamlessly
integrated and engage audiences in meaningful, interactive dialogue.
With
an excited client in Motorola, a soccer celeb in David Beckham and a
Chinese popstar in Jay Chou, travellers were able to Say Goodbye to
loved ones by broadcasting mobile video messages on big screens at Hong
Kong International Airport and receiving personalised messages and
exclusive mobile content from the two stars.
Audiences
interacted with the screens using their phones regardless of and using
any and all technologies from SMS to MMS, Mobile Video to Bluetooth,
providing all options so no one was excluded, putting smiles on
everyones' faces as a great start to their journeys!
As one of the focus group members said, "Advertising? Nope! It was just a really cool way of saying goodbye!"
It was an AMAZING SUCCESS.
With
tens of thousands of interactions between the consumers, the David
Beckham & Jay Chou, videos made their way all over the world from
phone to phone.
HUGE buzz was created in the regional press and word-of-mouth saw people going all the way to the airport just to...Say Goodbye!
By
making it as simple as possible for people to initiate and engage in
relevant dialogue with Motorola, the campaign was an unrivalled success!
Say Goodbye was brought to life by Ogilvy Hong Kong, The Hyperfactory & Aura Interactive.
