SOLUTION:

To support a robust application presence, a comprehensive recipe and shopping tool called the iFood Assistant was launched. Initially available only on the iPhone as a paid app, The Hyperfactory worked with Kraft to continue to expand to include an iPhone “Lite” version (free), BlackBerry versions and an Android version with a Recipe of the Day widget.

In addition to recipe content, iFood Assistant included CRM registration options, fully integrated with kraftfoods.com, for users to create, share and save their recipes and shopping lists.

RESULTS:

  • Exceeded download expectations—made the list of Top 150 paid apps
  • Increased CRM database to include new users
  • Strong user engagement with high return rates
  • Featured by Apple in TV, print and in-store promotion as an example of real innovation
  • Kraft client named one of 10 Most Innovative People in Food for 2009 by Fast Company
  • Awarded a 2010 Edison Award for innovation in the media and communications space with Recipe Box and Shopping List tools
